BULLDOG SUMMER BLAST A HIT WITH STUDENTS!
The Wilson Education Foundation is proud to provide funding for the Bulldog Summer Blast. The 6 week program is designed to keep literacy skills sharp and help prevent the “summer slide” by engaging students over the summer months. The camps are open to Wilson students entering grades 1st – 4th. Scholarships are available. Program Coordinator, Anissa Southwick, and the other staff are all Wilson teachers. With support from the Foundation, they worked together to create a fun curriculum that incorporated reading and writing activities with I-STEM experiences. Weekly themes included Under the Sea, Science Lab, Fairytales & Super Heroes, Space, Nature & Bugs, Fun & Fitness. Look for info about the 2020 Bulldog Summer Blast in January! #studentexperience
END OF THE YEAR STAFF CELEBRATION
The Wilson Education Foundation (WEF) partnered with the Wilson School District to host an end of the year luncheon for all Wilson employees. The Hawaiian Luau themed event included delicious food stations prepared by our very own Food Service Department, live music from a 2018 WHS graduate, and a presentation to honor this year’s retiring teachers, Carolyn Houtz and Sue Showalter. It was a fun way to kick off the summer and thank everyone for all their hard work! #teachingexcellence
2019 WILSON COMMUNITY NIGHT AT FIRST ENERGY STADIUM
May 31, 2019 was a great night at the ball park to celebrate all things Wilson! We were so excited to honor our 2019 Sun Federal Credit Union teachers of the year, Rachel Weidenhammer and Allison Spangler & the District Champion Wilson Baseball team! The JROTC Wilson Color Guard presented the colors and our high school Treble Choir performed the National Anthem. Wilson students were recognized for their academic achievement before the game.
Thank you to our generous sponsors for making it a great night to be a Bulldog! The event raised over $3,000 for the Foundation! #communityengagement
