ASHLEY WINTER 2025 TEACHER OF THE YEAR
ABOUT ASHLEY WINTER “This is my sixth year teaching 2nd grade at Whitfield Elementary. Previously, I started my career as a long-term substitute in Kindergarten at Cornwall Terrace. I've been lucky enough to always be a bulldog and was hired after student teaching in 3rd grade also at Cornwall Terrace. I graduated with my Master of Education from Kutztown University and will be graduating with my second masters this spring earning my Reading Specialist Certification and Instructional Coaching Endorsement. I love teaching -- and attribute it to all of the wonderful teachers I had here in Berks County. When I am not teaching, I am probably spending time with my husband, Austin; or with my niece and nephew, Ophelia and Elliott.”

2025 TEACHER OF THE YEAR CHRISTIE VISCARIELLO
ABOUT CHRISTIE VISCARIELLO “I’m a career changer who discovered my love for teaching a little later in life—and it’s been an amazing journey! I attended Monmouth University where I received my bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing, earned my teaching certification through Drexel University, and completed the Graduate Certificate Program in Educational Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Alvernia University. This year marks my 16th year in the Wilson School District, and I can honestly say I’ve loved every moment of it. I love teaching 6th grade math because it helps students figure out real-life puzzles! Math isn’t just numbers—it’s their secret toolkit for conquering everyday challenges! When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll find me cheering on my daughters—sometimes chauffeuring them like a pro—relaxing at the beach, crafting for my side business, or adventuring to new places to make memories. Our family bleeds Bulldog pride—and we wouldn’t have it any other way!”
REMINDER!

There will be no school for students on Monday, October 13 due to a Professional Development Day for our staff.
