SAFE2SAYSOMETHING (ANONYMOUS TIPLINE)

A school safety tool that will save lives. Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially on social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.

  • Online anonymous reporting
  • Here’s how it works:
    • Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2Say Something system
    • Crisis center reviews, assesses and processes all submissions
    • Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement  for intervention
    • If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app

TUTORING RESOURCES

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING CENTER

  • Location: WHS Library
  • Times: Monday through Friday:  2:45 pm until 4:00 pm
     Core Subject Area Teachers will be available for tutoring from 2:45 until 3:30 every day.
  • NOTE: The tutoring center will be closed during early dismissal days and during monthly faculty meetings.

MATH TUTORING CENTER

  • A place for students to go for extra help in math during the school day. We would be able to help with remediation, students who have been absent, need to take or retake assessments, or whatever is needed. Periods vary L107. The times vary due to their teaching responsibilities but the student (or teacher) can check in with them for their daily schedule.  Please email  Lisa Geist geilis@share.wilsonsd.org

    • Access on-demand virtual courses, professional support, and a safe community for parents to learn how to support their children and get answers to mental health questions.  There are courses on anxiety, depression, self-worth, grief and loss, suicidal ideation and other mental health concerns. All courses are created by therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists and other certified mental health practitioners. There is even a portal where you can “Ask a Therapist” your tough questions, as well as see questions and answers from other parents.

United Way Helpline-This is a 24/7 hotline that will connect individuals in need with services that may be helpful.  Just dial 211 from your phone or use the website listed below.

Council on Chemical Abuse (COCA)– This is an agency that provides addiction education and recovery support for Berks County.

TASC (Treatment Access and Services Center)-Agency that can provide referrals to treatment for Drug/Alcohol Abuse; and can provide case management services for those struggling with addiction.

You can also contact your local churches/religious locations in the area, who may be able to provide counseling support, food resources, and other needed support.
