AP Exam Information
AP stands for Advanced Placement. These are college-level classes taught in high schools throughout the country. Students enrolled in these classes are not required to take the AP exam, administered in May of every year. There is a cost for the exam ($98/test EXCEPT for AP Research and AP Seminar which are $146/test) that must be absorbed by the student. (For some cases fee reduction is available, please talk to your school counselor for further details.) If the student scores well enough (3, 4 or 5…highest possible is a 5) the class could be accepted by their future college for credit. Students are advised to research this with their college to see which grade is acceptable.
AP Exam Online Registration / Payment Form
AP Exam registration is now online! Before you register, make sure that you know the exact exam(s) that you want to take. For example, do you want English Literature or English Language (or in a few cases, both)? Check your schedule if necessary.
2023-2024 College Board AP Exam fee is $98.00 per exam except for AP Seminar and AP Research which are $146.00 per exam.
Although we encourage the students to complete the exam registration, your parent’s input may be needed during the payment process. Payment for the exam(s) can be made online through APTS https://aptsusa.com/wilsonhs/. This secure service eliminates the need to bring cash or checks to school. If you are free/reduced lunch, please make sure to indicate that on the registration form as this will be verified.

A non-refundable deposit of $40 per exam is due by November 1, 2023, and the balance must be paid in full by January 31, 2024. All students must complete the AP Deposit Form linked in the site below including those students receiving free or reduced lunch – if you receive free/reduced lunch you will not be prompted to pay the deposit after completing the form. The AP Deposit Form is part of the payment process so you will find payment options within the form.
