The Board of Directors for the Wilson School District announced today that current superintendent, Dr. Richard H. Faidley, has accepted a position as the new Superintendent of the Williston Basin School District #7 in Williston, North Dakota. The board has begun the process of developing a transition plan and search process for replacing Dr. Faidley.
Dr. Faidley joined the Wilson School District in July, 2017, having served previously as the Superintendent of the Boyertown Area School District. During his tenure at Wilson, he successfully cultivated and maintained relationships with stakeholders to achieve common goals such as developing a strong focus on the social and emotional needs of students, building a strong and collaborative leadership team and modeling a student and community-centered outlook to meet the needs of all students. In addition, Dr. Faidley was instrumental in leading Wilson through a comprehensive feasibility study and provided valuable leadership to both our school district and broader community during the COVID-19 crisis.
Mrs. Steph Kocher, President of the Wilson School District Board of Directors, stated, “We want to thank Dr. Faidley for his years of service to the Wilson community. His unwavering dedication to meet the needs of all students will leave a lasting legacy for years to come. In addition, his vast experience and knowledge of many aspects of the public school system and the contacts he has at the local, state and national levels have been invaluable to our team. On behalf of the entire board, we wish him well in his new role and know that he will make a positive impact on the students, staff and community of the Williston Basin School District.”
Dr. Faidley also commented, “Serving as Superintendent of the Wilson School District has been a tremendous honor for the past 5 years. I am extremely proud of all that we have accomplished together. I want to wish all of you continued success in the future and know that the District will continue to champion the whole child philosophy that we have all embraced.
The Wilson School Board has been extremely supportive during my tenure. The Board has been and continues to be focused on what is best for the students and staff of this great school District. Thank you for allowing me to serve as Superintendent of the Wilson School District.”
The Board of Directors will release a timeline and transition plan at the next board meeting to be held on April 19, 2022.
