Southern’s 7th and 8th grader students in Nature Club took their learning outdoors for a habitat exploration right on our school grounds, guided by guest educators from Nolde State Forest. Students documented their discoveries in field journals and uncovered all kinds of signs of animal life, even when the environment seemed quiet! #WilsonSD

Last week, our Reading Specialists hosted a fun, family-focused literacy night featuring dinner and three activity rotations: writing, phonics, and a read-aloud. Students and families learned together, and every student went home with a brand-new book!

At last week’s board meeting, our School Board had the chance to visit the BCTC East Campus and hold their meeting there. Wilson culinary students who attend BCTC impressed everyone by preparing and serving a delicious dinner! #WilsonSD

Students in Spring Ridge’s Intermediate Autistic Support class took part in a fun, hands-on pumpkin exploration activity! The students got to touch the outside of the pumpkin, knock to hear its sound, and feel its texture before scooping out the insides and exploring even more. It was a great way to engage their senses and celebrate learning through discovery! #WilsonSD

You’re invited the opening reception of “2026 Calendar Tribute to Wilson Schools - Yesterday and Today” on November 22, 1-4 pm! Wilson Theater Company presents The Play That Goes Wrong!
A delightfully disastrous comedy play, The Play That Goes Wrong follows the Cornley University Drama Society as they attempt to stage a 1920s murder mystery. Everything spirals hilariously out of control, as the accident-prone cast and crew struggle to make it to the final curtain call. Audiences will be treated to a whirlwind of slapstick humor and perfectly timed chaos. This laugh-out-loud farce is a must-see for fans of Monty Python and Noises Off, and good for audiences age 10 and up!
