The Wilson School District is aware of damage that occurred on Tuesday, July 7, at the adaptive playground at Whitfield Elementary School. The damage appears to have been caused by a small fire that originated in a nearby trash can.

The Spring Township Police Department has been notified and is actively investigating the incident.

District staff have already begun assessing the damage and coordinating the necessary repairs. Our priority is to ensure the playground is safe, welcoming, and fully ready for students and families as we begin the new school year.

The playground will remain open while repairs are completed. Any work will be conducted in a manner that allows the community to continue enjoying the playground safely.

We appreciate the continued support of our Wilson community.
