On March 4, a group of juniors had the opportunity to attend the GRCA's 15th Annual Women2Women Conference & Expo held at Alvernia University. We spent the day hearing from inspiring and empowering speakers, participating in breakout sessions, and interacting with local businesses and organizations to learn more about the value of community and leadership. A highlight of the conference was hearing keynote speakers Cory Varona and Nicol Varona Cancelmo, co-founders of curly hair care brand OCOA, talk about their personal and entrepreneurial journey from Reading, PA to becoming the first Dominican-American founded brand to launch nationwide at Ulta Beauty! #WilsonSD

What an incredible night of music! 🎶
On Friday, February 20, Wilson proudly hosted the Music Educators of Berks County (MEBC) 6th Grade Songfest at Wilson West Middle School.
It was an inspiring day as 148 talented students from 16 schools across Berks County came together for an unforgettable experience. After just five hours of focused rehearsal with a guest conductor, the students delivered a beautiful evening performance for their families.
We are especially proud of our 22 Wilson sixth graders from both West and Southern who represented our district with excellence and heart. Congratulations to all of the performers on a fantastic concert! #WilsonSD

Students at Spring Ridge recently participated in a Total Experience Learning Launch Lesson focused on a real-world environmental issue. After discovering what horseshoe crabs are, they read articles about how declining horseshoe crab populations impact red knot birds. Through this inquiry, students explored how one environmental challenge can affect an entire ecosystem.
This learning experience also introduced students to the 17 Global Goals and helped them make connections to goals such as Life Below Water and Life on Land. By examining a real-world problem and its global impact, students developed empathy and a deeper understanding of the challenges facing our world.
As they move into the final bend of their opinion writing unit, students will choose a real-world problem that resonates with them and write an opinion piece that encourages others to take action.
