Getting to Know Your Counselor
My name is Kim Kulp and I am the new School Counselor at Shiloh Hills! I started here at the end of September and I love this amazing school. I am so excited to be working with the wonderful students, staff, and families of the school. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from West Chester University. I also attended West Chester University for graduate school where I earned my Master’s degree in K-12 Professional School Counseling.
I am here to assist students with their social/emotional needs and I also teach all students in REACH once per cycle. I look forward to continuing to grow my relationship with all students, staff, and members of the community.
When I am not in school, I enjoy family time with my husband and four children and I am an avid reader. Please feel free to reach out to me with any concerns with your children.
Description of School Counseling Services
I am available daily to assist students, parents, and teachers. I will be consulting with teachers throughout the year to help provide the best school counseling program for your child.
I will be providing a lesson to each class on about a monthly basis. I will be following the American School Counselor Association’s National Standards and will be addressing lessons in the areas of academic, personal/social and the career domains. Please feel free to talk with your child about what they are learning during guidance and make use of that teachable moment.
I am available to meet with children individually or in small groups. I run a variety of groups each year including: friendship, social skills, changing families, study skills and organization, grief and loss and stress busters. I also have Lunch Bunch with students almost daily.
My goal is to develop a positive relationship between home and school. If you have any concerns regarding your child please feel free to contact me. When necessary, I may ask for additional information concerning your child. Please be aware of my sincere respect for confidentiality in these matters.
