Welcome to the Shiloh Hills Counseling Deparmtnet!
Hello! My name is Carrie Berg and I am the counselor at Shiloh Hills Elementary School. I’m looking forward to a great school year!
There are many activities that happen in the counseling office and throughout the school. Each area is explained in more detail on this site’s topic pages (to the left) and on the district’s counseling department page.
Any questions, concerns, or comments please feel free to contact me.
Getting to Know Your Counselor
I am proud to serve the students and families at Shiloh Hills Elementary. I am originally from Berks County and graduated from Muhlenberg High School. After high school, I spent two years studying psychology and biology at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I then transferred to Albright College and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelors in Psychology and Biology.
After graduating, I spent several years working in various aspects of the the social services field. I then decided that I really wanted to become a school counselor and I went back to school to further my education. I went to West Chester University and received my Masters in Educational Counseling in 2008.
When I am not at school, I enjoy swimming, playing tennis and field hockey. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, and my dog, Daisy. I also enjoy reading and cooking.
Description of School Counseling Services
I am available daily to assist students, parents, and teachers. I will be consulting with teachers throughout the year to help provide the best school counseling program for your child.
I will be providing a lesson to each class on about a monthly basis. I will be following the American School Counselor Association’s National Standards and will be addressing lessons in the areas of academic, personal/social and the career domains. Please feel free to talk with your child about what they are learning during guidance and make use of that teachable moment.
I am available to meet with children individually or in small groups. I run a variety of groups each year including: friendship, social skills, changing families, study skills and organization, grief and loss and stress busters. I also have Lunch Bunch with students almost daily.
My goal is to develop a positive relationship between home and school. If you have any concerns regarding your child please feel free to contact me. When necessary, I may ask for additional information concerning your child. Please be aware of my sincere respect for confidentiality in these matters.
