Given the potential for inclement weather the next few days, we feel it is important to remind our families how we will handle delays and school closures due to weather conditions for the 2020-21 winter season. Our inclement weather process can be found here.
It is important to note that if we need to close schools due to inclement weather, there will be no classes or virtual learning for students or staff. These days will be made up according to our approved 2020-2021 school calendar.
For our secondary Hybrid students, in the event of a snow day, the A/B Hybrid calendar will remain as is, and no “shift” will be made to the current pattern of A/B/FLEX days. For example, if the Wilson School District is closed on Thursday only, we will resume school on Friday with a regularly-scheduled “B” day. Here is a link to the A/B/Flex calendar.
For our elementary students, a snow day will impact our cycle day calendar. For example, if the Wilson School District is closed on Thursday, which is currently “day 5,” the next day we return will be “day 5.”
In the event of a 2-hour delay, our secondary students will begin school at 10:00 am and our elementary students will begin at 10:50 am. Kindergarten will follow a modified schedule with the morning session running from 10:50 am- 12:50 pm and the afternoon session running from 1:20-3:20 pm. Lunches will still be available on a late-start day.
Thank you for your on-going support of the Wilson School District as we navigate this school year together!
