As you are aware, the PA Department of Education and the Department of Health uses short-term closure metrics which are based on the number of positive COVID-19 cases within a rolling 14 day time period. For Wilson High School, we are required to shift to short-term remote learning when we reach 6 positive cases. Unfortunately, we reached this number at Wilson High School today and will need to shift into a remote learning environment beginning Tuesday, March 16 through and including Thursday, March 18 to allow time for contact tracing and extra sanitization.
Again, all instruction at Wilson High School will be remote for all learners, including our in-person special education classes, from Tuesday through Thursday (Wednesday will follow a flex day schedule). In addition, all extracurriculars and athletics will be cancelled through Thursday. Wilson High School students will return to their regular modes of instruction on Friday, March 19, 2021. Extracurriculars and athletics may also resume on Friday.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenging times together as a school community.
Dr. Richard H. Faidley, Superintendent
