On April 9, 2020, it was announced by the Governor that all Pennsylvania schools will be closed through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Obviously this brings a lot of emotion for our senior class as well as our entire high school. This pandemic has disrupted our musical, winter sports, spring sports, and many other end of the year events. With the most recent announcement from the Governor, the events that happen at the end of the school will be postponed or cancelled. We understand that this is a difficult situation for everyone, particularly our senior class, but the health and safety of our community is the top priority.
We have received many questions about the prom. At this point, you need to understand that the prom, as we know it, has been cancelled. For our seniors, we know that graduation is a top priority for you. Please know that we are looking at any and all options to celebrate your graduation in a meaningful way. At this point, we don’t have a finalized plan for a commencement event. We hope that over the next few weeks, we will have a better idea of what we may be able to do. Our plan is to engage our senior class to allow them to provide input regarding possible solutions.
We know that this situation is not easy for our students and community as we are all looking for some return to “normal” during these challenging times. But please know that as additional information becomes available, we will share it with all of you. We miss you all and hope you are all staying safe.
