We wanted you to be aware that a Wilson student group approached our high school administration regarding their desire to take part in a climate awareness event, which is part of the larger Global Climate Strike that begins this week. We worked together to develop an opportunity for interested students to participate in this event in a safe and structured way.
The event will take place Tuesday, September 17 from 9:09 AM to 10:40 AM in the Library. Students who have expressed interest in attending the event were instructed that they needed to get a pass by the end of the school day on Monday, September 16. The parents/ guardians of those students who requested a pass will be informed by the end of the day Monday of their child’s interest in participating.
Please note that this event is not sponsored by the Wilson School District. The high school assisted in helping the students find a time and place for the event to take place in a safe and supervised area. Also, teachers will not be missing instructional time as a result of the event, nor will students who are not participating be impacted in any way. The High School Administration will be at the event to monitor attendance and provide supervision.
