Chromebook Protection Plan

For any student but specific to 4th and 5th-grade students since they will be taking Chromebooks back and forth from home and school.

The Wilson School District provides a low cost Chromebook Protection plan available to all students who take their Chromebook home. This plan costs $20 per student ($10 for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch). By obtaining this protection, the first non-warrantable Chromebook damage will be covered for free. The second issue with the Chromebook will cost $25. If students do not obtain this protection, the average cost to repair a device is $50-$100 per incident (see the cost schedule at https://tinyurl.com/WSDCBcosts). Lost or stolen devices are not covered. It is recommended that all students who take their Chromebook home (Grades 4&5), purchase this protection plan to provide assurance that damage costs remain at a minimum.

If you would like to purchase the Protection Plan, there are a few ways to do so.

• Cash & Check – Please bring payment to your child’s building office
• Online – We will place the charge on your child’s Skyward account automatically mid-August. You will have until mid-September to purchase. If you wish to purchase the plan afterward, please contact your child’s building office or email helpdesk@wilsonsd.org so that the charge can be made available to pay online through Skyward/efunds. The device will need to be inspected before the plan can be purchased.

Getting Tech Help

If your student is experiencing problems using their Wilson-issued Chromebook, they should speak with their teacher for assistance.
