Wilson Elementary Families~
As you are aware, the Federal government has maintained the requirements for State assessments. Wilson Elementary students are scheduled to take these assessments during the following days. Each module will be offered in the morning (except 4th grade Science – 2 modules) and students will resume “light” educational activities with their teachers in the afternoon of each assessment day.
May 19-21 English Language Arts – 3 modules
May 24-25 Mathematics – 2 modules
May 26 Science (grade 4 only) – 2 modules
In the event that you have elected to opt your child(ren) out of the assessments this year, we are providing educational activities that will promote and sustain learning for students. These activities are found HERE at one central location. Students in grades 3-5 who are not completing the State assessments choose from the activities from this link during the mornings of each of the assessment days. The link will also be available on the school website.
NOTE for REMOTE LEARNING STUDENTS:
Remote learning students will log on with their teacher at approximately 1:30pm each of the assessment days. This is for ALL students who are remote learning with Wilson teachers at this time, including those who have reported to school for the assessments in the morning.
Those remote students who are not completing the assessments (opting out) should use the linked activities for practice in the mornings and log on with their teacher in the afternoon. Teachers will provide further information as to specific log on times. Like the in-person learners, remote learning students will have “light” afternoon activities facilitated by their teachers.
Those families of remote students who have requested transportation for testing will be provided with information about scheduled bus pick up times. If parents indicate that they will pick up their child after the assessment, they should be sure to communicate with the school office if not they have not done so already. Students needing bus transportation in the pm will remain at school, logging in with their teacher for the afternoon, and riding the same bus home at the end of the day.
Thank you for your cooperation as we navigate this requirement.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stacey Stoudt, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary
