Thank you to our families who have taken the time to complete our return to school questionnaire. We realize this is a challenging time and you have many decisions that you need to make. We appreciate your flexibility as we all know that new guidance is being provided to us on a daily basis that has caused us to make some adjustments in our plan.
We value all of the feedback that we are receiving from our families. We have read and discussed all of the questions that you have been sending us. Overwhelmingly, we have been receiving questions about our remote learning options for our students. Therefore, we want to provide you with an update regarding some changes we have made to our remote learning options. Please watch this video for an overview.
Specifically, we have determined that our families are looking for a remote learning environment option where students are taught by Wilson teachers. We had previously indicated that would be available for students in grades K-5 who are choosing not to return for in-person learning. We are pleased to announce that, based on your feedback, we are now offering a Wilson Remote Learning option with Wilson teachers for ALL students in grades K-12, for students choosing not to return for in-person learning. We have rebranded this option for our families as “Wilson Remote Learning.” You can learn more about this program on our newly-created website. Students enrolled in Wilson Remote Learning will experience a school schedule that mirrors their peers who are participating in our in-person instruction. They will have live lessons from their teachers as well as independent assignments that take place during the typical school day.
Because Wilson Remote Learning follows a typical school day schedule, we realize that some of our students may be looking for an option for a virtual school day that is flexible and allows your student to work at any time of the day, 7 days a week. If this describes your student, the Wilson School District still offers a virtual option that uses a third-party provider to deliver instruction that a student can access at their own pace.
