Popsicle and Packet
The elementary buildings have an annual event called Popsicle and Packet. This is when students find out who their teacher is, which staggered start day is assigned, and includes other important information about the school. This event is scheduled for August 15th from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at Shiloh Hills. *Please park in a parking space/lot near the playground. We will have tables on the pavement next to the playground, designated according to grade level. Once students and families get the packet, they can visit their teacher to say hello. Then families can visit the PTO tent and get a popsicle. Anyone who cannot attend this event can contact the school after the 15th to determine who the teacher is and the assigned staggered start date. Teacher information will also be visible in Skyward starting August 16th at 7:00 am. We will place any leftover packets in the mail unless we are notified of alternative arrangements.
Staggered Start — Aug 26th, 27th, OR 28th. For ALL of our students in grades K-5, we will implement a staggered start schedule for the first three days of school (Aug 26-28).
Elementary families will receive information in their back-to-school packet (on August 15th) regarding the scheduled day for their child(ren) to report to school during the first week. Under this schedule, one-third of a rostered classroom will attend school on Monday, August 26, followed by one-third on Tuesday, August 27, and one-third on Wednesday, August 28. ALL STUDENTS will then report to school and their rostered classroom on Thursday, August 29th.
**If you need to know the staggered start date before receiving the packet on the 15th, please contact the main office (610-670-0180 *1910) to obtain that information.

TRANSPORTATION
Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year. We look forward to providing busing to those students who qualify to and from our schools daily, as well as on class trips and extracurricular trips.
The StopFinder App is the method of communication for all busing information, including bus stop location, stop times, bus number, delay notifications, or beginning-of-the-year busing information. Minor bus accidents with no reported injuries are also reported through this system. If you still need to register for the StopFinder app, please email gracola@wilsonsd.org and request a registration link for StopFinder. Once registered on Stopfinder, you will see all busing information for your student(s) and receive all updates and notifications regarding your student(s) bus in real-time. To ensure you receive those notifications, please ensure your phone is set to accept push notifications for the Stopfinder App.
The StopFinder App is updated daily in real-time update mode and always includes the most recent information regarding bus schedules. Therefore, StopFinder is your best source for all transportation communication!
Please note that students in Kindergarten and 1st grade MUST have a parent/guardian at the bus stop or they will be returned to school to be picked up! All adults that are permitted to pick up your child MUST be listed as an emergency contact in Skyward!
Food Service
For the 24-25 school year, the continuation of free breakfast has been included in the Governor’s proposed final budget. As students return for the 24-25 school year, PDE has advised that students not be charged for school breakfast.
As a reminder, to fund your student’s lunch account, please follow the instructions on the Food Service website.
If you are a family that may qualify for free and reduced lunch, you will need to complete the application for the 2024-2025 school year. We encourage all families to apply by Monday, August 19 , 2024 to ensure that they are set up in our system by the first day of school.
For the 2024-2025 school year, our Food Service Department will require a doctor’s note to be on file with your student’s building nurse for any food allergies that are reported in Skyward. The information that you report in Skyward regarding food allergies is viewable by our Food Service Staff to provide an additional layer of protection for our students. In addition, we encourage students to self-advocate and ask any questions of our Food Service staff about food items they choose to purchase.

Chromebook Protection Plan
For any student but specific to 4th and 5th-grade students since they will be takingChromebooks back and forth from home and school.
The Wilson School District provides a low cost Chromebook Protection plan available to all students who take their Chromebook home. This plan costs $20 per student ($10 for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch). By obtaining this protection, the first non-warrantable Chromebook damage will be covered for free. The second issue with the Chromebook will cost $25. If students do not obtain this protection, the average cost to repair a device is $50-$100 per incident (see the cost schedule at https://tinyurl.com/WSDCBcosts). Lost or stolen devices are not covered. It is recommended that all students who take their Chromebook home (Grades 4&5), purchase this protection plan to provide assurance that damage costs remain at a minimum.
If you would like to purchase the Protection Plan, there are a few ways to do so.
- Cash & Check – Please bring payment to your child’s building office
- Online – We will place the charge on your child’s Skyward account automatically mid-August. You will have until mid-September to purchase. If you wish to purchase the plan afterward, please contact your child’s building office or email helpdesk@wilsonsd.org so that the charge can be made available to pay online through Skyward/efunds. The device will need to be inspected before the plan can be purchased.
