Recently our board had a first reading of a proposed Equity Policy for the Wilson School District. After that first reading, the board requested more time to review the policy and consider revisions. Since that time, we have received a lot of feedback about the policy and its implications across the district. In an effort to engage our community in a productive discussion and to capture this feedback in a collaborative way, we are now offering an opportunity for interested parties to engage in a table top discussion about the policy. We had previously opened up applications for parents , staff and students to participate in this workshop. Those applications have now closed.
There has been a request to open the application now for individuals who are not a parent, student or staff member– but CURRENTLY reside in the Wilson School District. If this decribes you and you have interest in applying to participate in this workshop, please complete this google form application by Thursday, September 23.
The workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 28th from 6-8 pm in the board room. Selected participants in the tabletop discussion will be notified prior to the scheduled workshop.
Please note that the process the board will be using to determine the representatives will include reviewing all of the responses to the questions, and ensuring representation from across all parts of the district. Board members will score the applicants independently.
