We wanted to provide an update regarding a situation that occurred today at our High School Campus on Monday, November 8. At 11:30 am, our high school office received an anonymous, threatening phone call. Upon receiving this call, our administrative team immediately followed our protocols and placed the high school on lockdown in place. In addition, because the high school shares the same campus as Whitfield Elementary School, we placed Whitfield on lockout. Spring Township Police were contacted immediately and they began an investigation. In addition, police responded to both buildings to provide added security for our students and staff, and were stationed throughout our campus for the duration of the school day and at dismissal.
We are continuing to work collaboratively with the Spring Township Police regarding this incident. At this time, there is no evidence that the threat we received today is credible. Therefore, the Spring Township Police have advised district administration that we can resume all school activities tomorrow as scheduled. As an added precaution, we are planning to have an expanded police presence at all our buildings. If the district receives any additional information as the Spring Township Police continues their investigations, we will share any relevant information.
