Dear Wilson Community,
I am reaching out to you today with a sense of excitement and optimism about the future of the Wilson School District and our strong community. Over the last few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of being a part of many events that put kids first while distinguishing the Wilson School District from others. Whether celebrating our students at one of the many awards ceremonies, watching our talented musicians perform during concerts, competing as Reading Olympians, preparing student-athletes for life through athletics and our very own Wilson Games, honoring our seniors with an incredible graduation ceremony, or simply creating fun memories for kids through our end-of-year events, I am proud of the way we ended this school year by focusing on creating moments for our students and their families that will create lasting memories. In my opinion, this is what public education is all about. At Wilson, we strive to set the standard and will define excellence in all that we do.
My vision for the organization is to create a place where “students love to learn, employees love to work, and the community loves to live.” As I transition into the role of Superintendent, we will be intentional about developing goals and metrics to create the culture that leads us closer to that vision. I have developed a 100-day entry plan that will help begin the process of transforming our school district into one ready to take on the challenges and opportunities ahead of us. I want to thank the school board for their confidence in me, our staff for their ongoing commitment to doing what is best for students, and the community for their unwavering support of the Wilson School District. It will require a true partnership to achieve our goals, and I am confident the Bulldog community will come together as we work collaboratively to achieve excellence. We can all agree that the Wilson community is special, and I am proud to be part of our promising future.
Thank you for your continued support of the Wilson School District, and have a wonderful summer – Go Bulldogs!
Dr. Chris Trickett, Superintendent
