We wanted to provide our Wilson families with an update regarding our work over this past week. First, we will be continuing to provide lunch and the next-day breakfast at all sites this week, Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27 from 11:30 am- 12:30 pm. All sites will offer a “drive-thru” model this week to ensure we are continuing to create a safe environment for our volunteers and participants. Please know that we will also continue to support any students who need to walk to the locations to receive their meals.
Second, we also know that many of you have questions about how we will continue to educate our students if the school closure continues for a significant period of time. In anticipation of this possibility, a team of educators has been working together remotely to make the necessary preparations for students to engage in the “continuity of education” model delivered in an online environment. As details about this new learning platform are finalized, we will be sending communications to all district families and staff. In the meantime, if your student has not accessed our optional learning resources, please encourage them to do so at this link.
On Friday, March 20, we held a chrome book distribution at all of our elementary schools for families who do not have access to technology in their homes. We had an overwhelming response to this technology distribution and will, therefore, hold another opportunity for elementary families to pick up Chromebooks on Thursday, March 26 from 12:00 pm- 1 pm at their student’s elementary building.
During this time, all communications will be posted to our district website, so please continue to visit often for the most up-to-date information.
We are proud to be part of such a strong, committed school district. We will all get through this together and we thank you for your continued support.
