It is our desire to continue to stay in contact with all our families during this challenging time. One of the items that we wanted to provide you with is an update regarding resources that are available to you during this recent school closure.
Educational Resources: Over the last few days, a team of Wilson teachers and instructional coaches have developed a list of high-quality educational resources for our students to use as desired over the next two weeks. You can find a link to those resources here. Please know that these resources are optional and designed to provide your student with some educational enrichment tools. Your student’s teacher(s) may reach out to them with additional supplemental lessons/ projects/ activities that are specific to their subject area. While these items will not be graded or required, we encourage them to take advantage of these on-line learning experiences as well as continuing to read for learning and enjoyment!!!
Community Chromebook Distribution: We are aware that some of our elementary students may not have access to a device that provides them with internet access. To accommodate this, we will be coordinating a building Chromebook distribution. Details will be communicated directly to our elementary families.
Community Feeding Program: In order to continue to support families over the next two weeks, we are offering bagged meals for students at one of five locations throughout our District. Distribution will be from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, starting Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27 (NOTE that there will be no meal distributions over the weekend.) Children do not need to be students of the Wilson School District, but they must be present to receive a meal. Pick up locations:
- West Lawn UMC – main parking lot next to the education building
- Sinking Spring Borough Library – back parking lot
- Whitfield Elementary School – student drop off
- Lincoln Park Pool – in front
- Cornwall Terrace/Southern complex – out back at red canopy
Family Resources: We know that this is a very difficult and anxious time for everyone. We have provided a full list of community and mental health resources which may be helpful to you during this stressful period of time. Here are a few that may be helpful to you.
