TO RECERT YOUR RED CROSS LIFEGUARDING CERTIFICATION
Spring Lifeguard Blended Learning Recertification Class Registration Open
The class is for recertification only.
The primary purpose of a recertification course is to give participants who are currently certified
American Red Cross Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) the opportunity to review the course
knowledge and skills within a formal course setting to maintain their American Red Cross Lifegaurding
(including Deep Water) certification.
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Recertification course will be taught as a blended learning course. The primary purpose of a recertification course is to give participants who are currently certified
American Red Cross Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) the opportunity to review the course
knowledge and skills within a formal course setting to maintain their American Red Cross Lifegaurding
(including Deep Water) certification.
Course Objectives
During their training, participants are required to demonstrate knowledge acquisition and skill
competency in four main areas:
▪ Foundational lifeguarding concepts (recognizing distress and drowning, surveillance and scanning,
and recognizing and preventing injury)
▪ Water rescue and extrication
▪ Resuscitation (including CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers) and first aid for adults, children, and
infants
▪ Individual and team rescue and response
Classes will take place in the classroom and pool at the Wilson High School Snyder Natatorium. Students should be prepared for class with their lifeguard manual, pocket mask, writing implement, swimsuit, and towel (for the pool portion). Students must already be:
- In Possession of a valid ARC Lifeguarding Certification Card.
- Water Safe and a Capable Swimmer
- Able to complete a Timed Swim of a Combination of Strokes (first class)
- Able to retrieve a Brick from Bottom of Pool (first class)
The cost of this course includes Fees Only for Lifeguard Recertification (including CPR/AED).
- Wilson Resident: $200.00
- Wilson Non-Resident: $225.00

THESE CLASSES WILL REQUIRE STUDENTS TO COMPLETE A PORTION OF THE CLASS BEFORE ATTENDING THE IN-PERSON DATES.
Class Option 1

Friday 5:00-10:00 pm (please pack a dinner)
Saturday 8:00 am- 12:45 pm (please pack a lunch)
Two mandatory class dates and participants must attend BOTH to receive recertification.
- *In order to obtain your updated certification attendance is MANDATORY FOR BOTH CLASS DATES.
- *Participants must bring expired certifications to 1st class

May 17 & May 18, 2025
Saturday May 17, 2025 5:00-10:00 pm (please pack a dinner)
Sunday May 18, 2025 5:00-10:00 pm (please pack a lunch)
THE COURSE WILL REQUIRE MATERIAL TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE START OF IN PERSON SESSIONS
