As we approach the winter break we wanted to reach out to you and thank you again for your on-going support of the Wilson School District during these unprecedented times.
Our winter break for students will be from December 23, 2020 through January 1, 2021. Then, from Monday, January 4 through Friday, January 8, students in the Wilson School District will be learning remotely, with the exception of some select low incidence special education programs, who will continue to meet in-person. Those families previously received a separate communication.
This temporary shift to a full remote environment was taken as a proactive step to allow time for families to identify whether or not any possible positive contacts may have occurred over the break, and to begin a quarantine period before risking spread in their school building. Students will return to their selected model of instruction on January 11, 2021.
We realize that cases of COVID-19 may occur while our students are on Winter break. We would still like for families to report those cases to us. Since our staff will not be in the office during the break and will not have immediate access to voicemail or email, we are asking families to complete the form linked below so that we can properly follow-up with you and assist with any necessary contact tracing. This information will remain confidential, and can only be accessed by our nursing staff and building administrators.
Winter Break – COVID-19 Reporting Form
In preparation for our week of remote learning upon the return from the winter break, please see this Q&A document which provides additional information, including details about how students can receive meals as well as support that our nursing team will be providing for families. All information regarding our Health and Safety Plan can be found on our website and we will continue to provide you with updates as we receive them.
Again, we thank each and every one of you for the part you are playing in providing the best education possible for our students during these challenging times. Best wishes for a safe and healthy New Year!
