Our team continues to work diligently to prepare for a full reopening of the Wilson School District for the 2021-2022 school year. A key part of our planning process was the development of a new Health and Safety Plan. This new plan was approved by our school board at the July 19 meeting. You can review a copy of the plan here.
To develop this updated plan, we took into consideration the results of our recent community survey, the current guidance from the CDC regarding the reopening of schools, and feedback from our local medical professionals.
We have developed a web page where you can find additional information including the results of the community survey, the board presentation regarding the plan and a Q&A regarding the opening of school.
For families who may be looking for a virtual option for your student for the 2021-2022 school year, we will offer our Wilson Virtual Academy (WVA). This program features a flexible virtual school day that allows students to work at any time of the day, seven days a week. You can learn more about this option here. If you are considering sending your student to WVA for the 2021-2022 school year, please complete this online form by August 6, 2021, indicating your interest.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of the Wilson School District. Please know that guidance regarding the opening of school for the fall continues to evolve and we are prepared to make adjustments to our Health and Safety Plan as needed. As always, the health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
