Director of Curriculum - 12-month, full-time Act 93 position available.  We are adding a Director of Curriculum position to our complement of the district's leadership team.  The candidate for this position will have experience as a school-system leader, demonstrated extended leadership in district-wide initiatives, and a proven record of working effectively with a district's professional staff in curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development.
Essential Responsibilities of the position:
  1. Provide leadership on all aspects of the district curriculum by developing a shared philosophy, strong alignment and articulation of curriculum, and monitoring the implementation of the curriculum.
  2. Serve in a supervisory capacity to the district's department chairs, supervisors, and elementary curriculum liaisons.
  3. Possess a demonstrable understanding in designing curriculum, instruction, and assessment as well as an ability to lead others in it.
  4. A keen understanding and ability to use standards to guide and inform our curriculum.
  5. Ensure that the curriculum is being taught and learned.

School Psychology Internship - internship available for the 2014-2015 school year.  Interns will be provided with a wide range of experiences above and beyond traditional assessment for special education eligibility.  Examples include participation on pre-referral intervention teams in a district that utilizes an RTI approach; instructional assessment for intervention; design, implementation, and monitoring of individual and group interventions (academic, behavioral, socio-emotional); contact and constructive feedback from site supervisor; opportunities to work with and/or shadow multiple school psychologists at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.  Supervision is provided by a doctoral-level, Nationally Certified School Psychologist who is also PA certified.  A stipend of $7,500 will be offered for this full-time internship.  The internship follows the school calendar.  Medical, retirement and other benefits are not included with this internship.  Interviews will be scheduled beginning in March 2014.  Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and current vita/resume to Director of Pupil Services (ursreg@wilsonsd.org).

Individuals interested in subbing as an Assistant Supervisor ($10.98/hr) must possess one of the following DPW-mandated minimum qualifications:

1.       A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate an 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.

2.       A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training described in 3270.31©(relating to age and training) of the DPW Child Care Manual.

3.       A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum described in 3270.31© of the DPW Child Care Manual.

4.        A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years of experience with children.
