Whitfield Elementary School Counselor
Wilson School District
West Lawn  PA  19609
610 670-0180  EXT  1615

Welcome!

I am proud to say, I am the School Counselor at Whitfield Elementary School.  We have an awesome team of teachers and staff members who are committed to the academic, social, emotional and behavioral success for all of our students.  Please know that all Whitfield teachers encourage you to contact them if your child is experiencing any difficulty here at school.  If my involvement is needed, either you or the classroom teacher can contact me.  We all need to work together as a team to promote all around success for your child.

I describe my position to students, as another trusted grownup they can talk to, in addition to their teacher, here at school, when they are experiencing a problem.  Students can arrange a time to talk to me by asking their teacher or simply seeing me in the hallway and asking themselves.  When I do meet with students, I arrange a time with their teacher that does not interfere with direct academic teaching.

My counseling goal when meeting with a student is the following:
  1. Help the student identify the problem
  2. Guide the student through a problem solving process which will ultimately result in a PLAN
  3. Identify adults in the student's world who can support them during the PLAN IMPLEMENTATION.
  4. Follow up with future meetings to encourage student accountability of their PLAN.
When students do meet with me, I strongly encourage them to talk with their moms and dads about we talked about in school.  In the case of student coming to me muliple times, I will contact you as parents.   We all need to work together, to help your child, help themselves, meet with success.

Feel free to contact me by phone or email.  If I do not return a call or email within 24 hours during the school week, please do not hesitate to contact me again.
